I meet Kimberly and Sam at Oatlands in Leesburg Virginia for their engagement session. Oatlands is a historic property featuring a classic Virginia mansion and beautiful gardens. Founded in 1798 the property has an amazing history with frequent visits by the 5th president James Monroe all the way to the 32nd president Franklin D. Rosevelt. A working farm for much of its existence Oatlands relied on slave labor, utilizing 133 slaves by the start of the Civil War. A visitor today can take in the amazing scenery and gardens, partake in a Tea Party, enjoy a concert in the fields, or rent the property for a private event. Kimberly, Sam and I enjoyed a wonderful day creating some great photographs.
